Living in Hammond Bay

Hammond Bay winds its way along the coastline between Dover Bay and Departure Bay. Nestled between the shoreline and some of Nanaimo’s favourite view points and hiking trails, Linley Valley, Cottle Lake Park, and Smugglers Hill. People that live in and around this area live there for the views and
proximity to the ocean. The Hammond Bay area is one of Nanaimo’s most beautiful jewels.

Home Styles

This area is home to many of the city’s luxury properties and offers a wide variety of homes ranging from million dollar homes with unobstructed views. Many are ocean front, some with large lots and even estate like properties. There are well established homes, some condo and newer subdivision winding their way up the rocky hillside to capture the sunrises and views that reach all the way across to the mainland. The Neck Pointhomes are well spaced out because of the cliffy terrain.

Pipers Lagoon & Neck Point

Pipers Lagoon and Park Neck Point Park are two lovely waterfront attractions in this area. Sea lions and orcas pass through these parks and can be seen from some of Hammond Bay’s cliffside homes. A developed trail system runs through both parks, offering gentle hiking with plenty of places to stop and enjoy the views.
